The sanatorium “Orizont” is situated in the urban Serhijivka village on the plain northern coast of the Black Sea and the Shabolatskyi Firth. A small mud cure clinic was first built here in 1895. Development of the resort “Serhijivka” began in 1940 after Bessarabia had entered the USSR. According to the climatic characteristic, the resort “Serhijivka” is located in the area of Odessa’s resorts, which can be specified by dry pure air that is refreshed by light sea breeze, the duration of warm season is from April to October, the quantity of sunny days is more than 290 a year. Besides, winter is mild and misty, the annual precipitation is within 250 mm, major portion of which falls exactly in winter. The sanatorium “Orizont” is a unique natural service complex that has a rich natural resort potential. The main medicinal factors are mineral water and therapeutic muds. Diseases of support-motor apparatus, nervous system and respiratory apparatus, urological and female disorders are treated in the sanatorium.
