The sanatoria and health complex “Ay-Danil'" is a climatic, seaside sanatorium for treatment of patients with diseases of respiratory organs of nontuberculous character, blood-vascular organs, nervous system and partially digestive apparatus and locomotor apparatus. The sanatorium is situated in the amphitheatre of mountains on the territory of the park-monument of landscape art, in 120 metres from the shore of the Black Sea, between the Nikitsky Botanical Garden and Gurzuf, in the relict juniper grove. The climate here is mild, equable and dry (dry subtropics). Procopius of Caesarea was the first, who mentioned about the territory, where the sanatorium is located now, in the beginning of the 6th century A.D. On the Martjan Cape, which is a part of the sanatorium, there was a temple of goddess Artemis, where the priestess - princess Iphigenia carried service. Up to this time traces of the fortress, which existed from the 6th to the 15th century, have still remained in the park. In 1909 the Yalta climatic colony, which in the 20s was reformed into the child's sanatorium, was organized for sickly and weak children in the settlement. The sanatorium assumed its present aspect in 1974.
